Grand Opening Giveaway- Day Eight CLOSED

Being that today is the last day of our grand opening giveaway week, I thought it would be fun to have today's interview and giveaway is with moi.. yep, I am interviewing myself! HA
You can also find me blogging at my everyday blog Rosey Little Things.

How long have you been collecting vintage sheets?
I have been collecting vintage pillow cases for years, maybe 10.  My vintage sheet obsession started 3 or 4 years ago.

What or Who inspired you to use vintage sheets in your projects?

All of the amazing quilts and projects in blog land made me realize I needed to use them in projects.  Such an inexpensive way to back a quilt! And sooo pretty!

How many vintage sheets do you have right now?Whole ones-8
Fat Quarters- 100ish
and a whole big tote full of sheets that I have cut into.
How long have you been selling VS's?I have had VS FQ sets in my Shoppe for over a year and have been selling reusable vintage pillow case  market bags for at least that long.  I just added a couple FQ packs and some scrap bags, will be adding more as I find more fab sheets!

Any fun projects planned using VS?

SOOO many, have VS bunting cut out and ready to sew, want to make a VS table cloth.. saw one somewhere on blog land and need to make one!  Plan to make one of the pillow case aprons from this tutorial, I could go on and on.  Just wait and see

I did just make this out of a VS, may make a few more and put them in the shoppe!

It is a camera strap cover.  So much prettier than the black standard one that says Canon on it!
I am also hosting the vintage sheet charm square swap... sign up here!!!
How long have you been sewing?

I learned in 7th grade home ec and have been sewing ever since...  so over 20 years eeek that makes me feel kind of  O L D!
Do you have a fav vs print?

I LOVE any thing with pink in it and really love all the soft water colored ones. My good friend Colima just surprised me with happy mail...

Isn't this sooo pretty. She sent me a fq of it!!!

Any prints you are coveting at the moment? So many but I really love the pink one from the previous interview.. and polka dots... would love to have polka dots in my collection!

Where do you find your vintage sheets?

Estate sales, garage sales, and thrift stores  and most recently my  mother in laws linen closet!

What made me start this blog?
I love blogging and have been blogging for over three years now and decided it would be the perfect place for all of us VS lovers to connect.

Now On to the Giveaway: Please leave a separate comment for each item you complete. You can do one or all of these things.

Giveaway Closed

Loved reading all about your obsession! And it's so nice to know I'm not alone! LOL

I'm collecting yellows at the moment for a quilt for me. I think a blue camera strap would be awesome. I live with all men, so pink's a little unpopular around here for things we all use!

Thanks for the chance to win such pretty fabrics and for hosting this site and the interviews!

Everything in your shop is something I would love to have. The large blue market bag, though, is my fave!

I was wondering if you were going to interview yourself! Love it! If I won, I'd love pink. I've been making pink quilts lately, and have been using up my stash (that's a good thing, right?). :-)

Congrats on an awesome grand opening for the blog!!

I looked through your shop. LOL, I go window shopping there OFTEN...would LOVE to buy, just can't for now. Anyhow, I love the colors in your shop. It takes me back to being a little girl looking at the quilts and beds in the cottages put together from old stuff handed down. I loved the colors and lingered often in the sunny bedrooms just to soak it up.
I like your pink market bag best...LOVE pink! Thank you for blessing us.
Your interview was F-U-N and I delight in "knowing" you and your blogs. THANK YOU for so much inspiration.~

Just ordered some vintage sheet items from your shop. Fabulous! I am so jealous of your ability to find the sheets, I am not having much luck. Ebay seems like such an expensive way to go. What do you think? I am loving the pink florals which is weird because I usually love yellows-maybe just part of Spring fever.

ROLLERWRITER said...

Forgot to mention that I love your shop! The website is terrific. I am so jealous of the pink milk glass candy dish that was already sold. I am anxiously awaiting the fat quarter set and bag of scraps. Will be back often.

I think that gives me 6 comments-all but the flikr group (will have to make up & photo something before the 29th).

your shop looks wonderful, and its very easy to navigate. i love all the fat quarter selections you have! camera strap would be a gift for my sisters...so darker colors, her fav is purple. thanks for a chance.

What a wonderful giveaway! I have always thought vintage sheet quilts turn out so pretty. I especially love a beautiful mix of colors in those quilts for a very vintage scrappy fell. Just beautiful! =)

Marcia said...

Thank you for this giveaway. I am very new to the vintage sheet collection mania. I have one all cotton twin of blue daisies. Discovered that one I thought was vintage must not be as had synthetic fibers (it looked like a 70s orange/avocado/turq. riot of wildflowers).
I lean towards pretty blue flowery style of vintage sheets.

Kathy - mom of many said...

For the FQs, I'd love purple/lavendar or blue. Love your blog. Thanks, Kathy

Linda said...

I keep reading about Vintage sheets. I remember when they were 'current' not 'vintage'! However, they are now appealing to me all over again. It would be great to win your Giveaway! Loved your Tutorial on how to make FQs from the sheets.

Marcia said...

On your Rosie's shop I found vintage sheet FQ in sunshine. Unfortunately the set of 6 FQ in blues was sold out. Those I really liked. mlwright29 (at) hotmail (dot) com

What a great way to use vintage sheets! The most creative I've ever gotten was putting them on a bed! :)

I love greens and blues and nice rich reds, anything new and fresh and fun, pinks and purples, pretty much any type or color of fat quarters would make me very happy!

No camera strap needed! Thanks!

I checked out your shoppe too and love all of it, but my favorite is the jewelry section. I remember going through my grandmother's jewelry drawer and picking through her lovely pieces that looked just like many of yours. She would have just the perfect pin for whatever she was wearing! And the keys are cool too. What is it about keys?

Very nice!
