Grand Opening Giveaway- Day six

Today's interview and giveaway is with Siouxsan of Vintage Urban Girl you can also find her blogging here.
How long have you been collecting vintage sheets?
I have been collecting sheets for about 5 years, but have used them in projects since I was in High School (22 years ago)

What or Who inspired you to use vintage sheets in your projects?

What drew me towards using sheets was cost.  I have always found it an easy way to get a lot of fabric to play with for a great price.  I of course love the retro prints and color palette, since I am stuck in the past.

How many vintage sheets do you have right now?
Well, since I have been selling them on etsy my collection has gotten much smaller, so I would say about 25.

How long have you been selling VS's?
I just started selling them early last year on etsy, since my collection was turning into hoarding and well I always love to find and buy more, so this way I could sell them and still have the joy of finding them.  I love getting feedback from my buyers about what project they intend to use the fabric for.  Right now I am low in my shop, since I haven't found many new ones lately, but that can turn around in a hurry!

Any fun projects planned using VS?
Well after you finding me and looking at your blog I just started making vendor aprons.  I have been in need for myself, but never took the time to make one.  Well with the pillowcase pattern it is a snap.  I did change the tie to a vintage sheet instead of a ribbon.  Well now I have a line of people wanting one, so finally I have a direction for my stack of vintage pillowcases.  Thank you!  Also I never know when I will need to put together something new, so my vintage sheets are always at the ready for whatever pops into my head.

How long have you been sewing?

I have been sewing since I was a kid.  My grandma who is 104 and my mom sewed a lot and they were always willing to let me use their machines to play with.  In my late teens all through my 20's and early 30's I worked for two different clothing designers, so I picked up a lot of tricks from them even though I was not a sewer for them.  I did everything but sew, but you pick up stuff just being in the environment.

Do you have a fav vs print?
I am always drawn to wild floral prints.  The crazier the better.  Whatever makes me smile!

Any prints you are coveting at the moment?
Well I have one sheet in particular that I just can not imagine ever cutting into.  It is this great crazy daisy print in electric chartreuse green, bright turquoise, and purple.  I just adore it and my heart races every time I look at it.

Now On to the Giveaway: Please leave a separate comment for each item you complete. You can do one or all of these things.
