A lovely tutorial from Tamara of Ducky House.
Yup, that is my motto this summer. I don't want to get out of bed. Oh that doesn't mean I'm actually horizontal, rather I just want to be comfy, all day, all summer long. I can't think of anything more comfortable than when I first get into bed at night. The mattress, pillows, sheets & quilt, they all call me to slumber. It's a good feeling, one worth preserving and sharing.
So here's what's up. I had a need to sew this past week, but didn't want to do anything too strenuous like finish the quilt on my cutting table which would require awkward body positions for basting and quilting. I did something weird to my back/hip and so contortionist sports are not a good idea right now. Instead I wrote up a tutorial for y'all in celebration of summer and all that is good about it.
Are you still with me? It's a pdf download with lots of instruction and photos...don't get out of bed pants Print it up and give it a whirl for yourself, kids, hubby, sister, mum, the dog??...well maybe not the dog but you know, anyone you can think of as long as it stays in gift format all is good. The tutorial is meant for personal use only and items made from it are not to be sold.
If you have any questions in regard to the tutorial just ask away. Happy Sewing to you! xxx
** ETA: If you are using a pair of elastic waist pants as your pattern base, remember to stretch the waist line or you will end up with a waist line that is too small.

Oh my gosh! You have the prettiest vintage sheets! I have GOT to make me some of these. And you are right, there is no better feeling than when you first slip into bed at night! I love how the covers are a bit cold too until you sink in and warm them all up! Where do you get your sheets from? The yellow is beautiful! Jenn
Awesome pants!! I love the pre-hemmed legs! I linked to your tutorial over at Craft Gossip Sewing:

They look so very comfortable and they are adorable. Thank you for sharing the pattern!
OM Gosh! I love this tute and love this idea and I am going to try to find some cool, cool used flannel sheets at the thrift stores to make me some jammin' jamma bottoms! Thanks for this tute!
I LOVE these!
This is crazy - but I actually have the two pillowcases that match those sheets! I got them at a thrift store a few months ago. I've been trying to decide what to do with them. And I think you've inspired me to make a pair of cute lounge/gardening/lazy shorts. Thanks!
I had those sheets as a girl!! Awesome. This is a cute project.
This is the most adorable idea I have seen for a long time. So awesome!! Thanks!
Found you though Pinterest and I love this idea! Soooooo cute and fun and funky! Now you've got me out hunting for vintage sheets. No luck yet, but my fingers are crossed. Thank you so much for the instructions AND inspiration.
I have these sheets! I love them so much. My mom got them when she got married, and I've slept on them all my life. Maybe when they finally wear out, I'll repurpose part of them as pants!
