When The Curtain Goes Up

Sheets have always made sense as an inexpensive window covering. Growing up we had really wide windows that weren't compatible with storebought window treatments. So, my mum made our curtains from sheets.

Not only do sheets look fabulous in a window but they also make decorative shower curtains. Here are some of my favorite ways other creative people are brightening up their rooms on a budget with vintage sheets:

Vintage Sheet Shower Curtains

I love the fun, brigth retro flowers of this sheet made into shower curtain.

I love this shabby chic option with a tutorial. The rose hem is so pretty.

Continuing with shower curtains, this is a great tutorial plus some information about shower curtain liners. I love those big flowers.

One last shower curtain. I love the ruffled hem. There's a great tutorial too.
source
This is another fun, ruffled option. I like how this one and the one above both ruse multiple sheets.

I love this cheery flower shower curtain. But, omg, that matching mat is adorable.
Vintage Sheet Curtains on the Wall
This bedroom is a dream. This vintage sheet canopy looks very exotic.

This lovely yellow sheet brightens a basement wall. Click on the link to see the basement-turned-walk-in closet.

Vintage Sheet Window Curtains
In the Bedroom
This window seat is so precious. I want to curl up with those pillows and a great piece of children's literature.

The flowery hem of this one is such a pretty touch on a  bright white curtain.

Amid all the feminine flowery vintage sheet curtains, there is this wonderful, mid-century-awesome brown and white set. They look great with the striped afghan.

This totally reminds me of my bedroom when I was a teen. I even had a daybed like this one. I can almost feel the Seventeen Magazine in my hands now.
source
I love vintage sheets and I love ruffles. Therefore, I love these curtains. They adorn the window of a sweet nursery.

Patchwork
I love the patchwork on this curtain. All the patterns look amazing together.

Here's another patchwork option. I like the different size squares.

Vintage Sheet Curtains in the Living/Dining Room
Vintage sheets are too fabulous to be reserved for the bedroom, bathroom and basement. They look great in rooms that don't start with a "b" too.  This blue pair is simply elegant.
source
Vintage sheets look great in the dining room. Many of us have probably grabbed a sheet to use as a table covering so why no a window covering?  These curtains are "delish."

Finally, this is a really pretty vintage sheet curtain in the living room. I love the tie back.

I love all of these vintage sheet curtains. Many of the posts also have instructions and tutorials. Give them a click.

Okay, which curtain is your favorite?
