Deck the Halls

We love decorating our home for holidays, especially with handmade decorations. Each year I try to add at least one new homemade item to our Christmas decor. I'm not sure what I'll make this year but I found lots of inspiration on the internet to share with you. Enjoy!

A Vintage Sheet Wreath
I love the burlap and button embellishment on this vintage sheet wrapped wreath. So festive!

Vintage Sheet Trees
OMG, I love this forest of trees made of vintage sheets!

Vintage Sheet Gift Tags
Vintage sheet scraps + manilla tags + string + words of inspiration= unique gift tags.

Vintage Sheet Stars
I've probably never mentioned my love of origami. So far I've only folded paper but if I could fold vintage sheets into stars, my whole world would change.
Vintage Sheet Chain and Ornaments
This would be a great use for vintage sheet scraps-a fabric/paper chain. It's another good-with-paper-but-better-with-sheets project.
Awwww. Look at these cute little vintage sheet stocking onaments for the tree.
Vintage Sheet Tree Skirts
Many newlywed brides have wrapped a bedsheet around their little scraggly Christmas tree.
I love this ruffled tree skirt made from a used sheet. It looks elegant.
This one may be for the groom. A Star Wars tree skirt. Too fun!
Speaking of Star Wars, check out this Storm Trooper Christmas tree ornament.
Vintage Sheet Stockings
Custom stockings would be so great. I think they would even be fun in Star Wars sheets or Carebears. Hmmm. I love the lace trim on these.
And the fun mix and match pattern on these.
And the texture of the vintage chenille on the cuff and heel on these.

Vintage Sheet Bunting
What about a fun new tradition of a holiday bunting? This bunting would be fun over the table,  window, or doorway. It could also be fun wrapped around the tree.

Vintage Sheet Tablecloth
OMG, look at this vintage bedcover from the '70s! I love it as a tablecloth.

Okay, the ideas are flowing. Now I just need to pick one and get sewing. Any suggestions? Favorites?

Oh, and don't forget the Vintage Sheet Holiday Gift Guide. New items are included all the time.

Fabulous post....I think even I could make the wreath....might give it a go, it would certainly tell the neighbourhood where my interests lie.
