Happy March! I am loving simple felt crafts these days. You, too? Cool, here's an easy shamrock garland.
- 2 4" x 12" pieces of thick or stiff green felt
- sewing machine
- needle and green thread
- white yard and a big needle
- gold bells or white puff balls
Place felt pieces together and stitch a 1/4" seam along the 12" side
Open up pieces and flip around to make the shape of a heart. Pin and stitch 1/4" along the 12" side.
Cut your tube into 1/2" pieces to make several hearts.
Place 3 of the hearts together with the bottoms staggered. Sew them together at the "stems" with the green thread. Thread Yarn through the middle heart.
Alternate shamrocks with gold bells or white puff balls and tie over mantle or onto a wreath.
To make the Irish Blessings sign I used:
A blank plaque from Hobby Lobby with some Sharpie markers and
A cardboard letter "C" from Hobby Lobby. I painted it white and then used my inner kindergartner to make a rainbow with Sharpie Markers.
I took off the black ribbon that came with the plaque and attached the "C" rainbow to the back.
I brought back the green pillowcover that I upcycled from a plaid shirt.
And that completes the look.
Thank you for stopping by the Vintage Sheet Blog today. I hope that you have a wonderful St. Patrick's day. I already celebrated St. David's Day on March 1st.
